From its humble beginnings, Generations Café or The G-Spot as it is more popularly known has became an institution for music lovers from all corners of the globe. Over the past 3 years the venue has hosted a festival called Jazz on the Lawn.
The event has become an extension of this popular live entertainment venue with approximately 5 000 to 6 000 people flocking to this annual outdoor concert which features a plethora of live entertainment. It is an all encompassing family festival with a contained entertainment area for minors to engage in their own amusements and not feel left out in the greater scheme of things.
The G Spot Jazz Lounge is fully committed to cultivate an environment where people can appreciate an authentic, safe and proudly South African experience and since its inception this event has been rated as one of the safest by the City of Cape Town.
The next Jazz on the Lawn is planned for March 2012 and by popular demand has now been spread over a 2 day period with a Soul/Gospel addendum.
- Date: 24 March – Jazz on The Lawn Time: 10h00 to 22h00 This is a potpourri of Adult Contemporary, Pop and Jazz Fusion performed by some of the best entertainers and creates a platform for emerging and aspiring artists
- Date: 25 March – The Urban Soul Gospel Festival Time: 09h00 to 18h00 The exciting urban soul Gospel showcase is intended to cultivate and promote tolerance and harmonious relations amongst communities featuring award winning artists/bands as well as aspiring church choirs and bands.
